ACMC Therapy Department functions to help patients return to their most normal, active and satisfying lifestyle as possible. Our team specializes in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent disability for patients suffering from injury or disease.
Physical Therapy services (PT) work to help individuals maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and functioning to obtain optimal performance, health, well-being, and quality of life. Physical therapy is provided for individuals of all ages who have or may develop impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions due to musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and/or integumentary dysfunctions/disease.
Occupational Therapy (OT) is the therapy of LIVING LIFE TO ITS FULLEST. Occupational Therapists strive to improve our client’s ability to do the things that are important to them. Whether this is more basic (yet essential) tasks like upper extremity strengthening for functional activities such as eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, and transfers to a plethora of more complex activities that are important to the patient. Speech-Language services work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. The overall objective of speech-language pathology is to optimize individual’s abilities to communicate and swallow, thereby improving quality of life.
Our client base is broad, we treat patients across the whole continuum of life. From early intervention/pediatrics to geriatrics. We offer inpatient, swing bed, and outpatient therapy services tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. Our caseloads are varied from post-surgical rehabilitation for orthopedic surgeries such as Rotator Cuff Repair, Joint Arthroplasties (replacements) for shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and fingers. We also provide therapy for Neurological conditions such as CVA (stroke), Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Spinal Cord Injury, and pediatric issues such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum, and Developmental Delays. We offer spinal rehabilitation services for disorders such as Spinal Stenosis, Bulging Discs, and Sciatica. Balance and Vestibular disorders can be quite devastating and are many times treatable, we offer services to address these disorders as well.
